Stephen Fulton And Shakur Stevenson Trade Words On Social Media!
Unified WBO and WBC super bantamweight champion Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton (20-0, 8KOs) is riding high after winning a tight majority decision over Brandon Figueroa (22-1-1, 17KOs) in his last fight. The win gave him two of the four titles at super bantamweight, putting him halfway towards his goal of undisputed. The win also left him feeling like he has a headlock on the division. Not only that, he has his eyes set on the featherweight and junior lightweight divisions.
A BACK AND FORTH WITH SHAKUR STEVENSON!
Catching wind of the bravado from Fulton, two-division world champion and current WBO junior lightweight champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson (17-0, 9KOs) would quickly chime in. He let Fulton know that junior lightweight was his division.
This would lead to both men going back and forth, with each welcoming a fight with one another.
These two young fighters have unfinished business in their respective weight classes. Therefore, a showdown at this point makes absolutely no sense. Another thing is that they’re separated by two divisions. Stevenson, a huge junior lightweight, figures to be just too big for Fulton.
For Stevenson, he’s clearly eager to fight anyone he deems top tier. Unfortunately for him, he hasn’t been able to secure the marquee fights he’s seeking. Hopefully 2022 brings the fights against Oscar Valdez, Vasyl Lomachenko or Chris Colbert that he’s been seeking.
As for Fulton, the fight he’s eyeing in 2022 is a undisputed showdown with fellow IBF and WBA unified super bantamweight champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev (10-0, 7KOs).
