Usyk eyes possible Wilder fight!

Could we see Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder collide in 2021? If former undisputed crusierweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (18-0, 13KOs) has his way, we very much could! His first option would be to face unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, as he is the mandatory for the WBO title. However, he may allow for the British champion to proceed with the highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury.

Speaking to thesun.com, Usyk stated his interest in a possible Wilder fight.

“There are a lot of guys who I would like to fight and would be happy to fight, like Deontay Wilder.”

This would be a very intriguing fight for both men. It would pit boxer vs puncher. Usyk, an elusive boxer with good hand-speed, would be going up against the hardest puncher in the division, Wilder. Coming off a knockout loss against a boxer in Fury, it would be interesting to see how he would do against another boxer, albeit a smaller one. For Usyk, how would he react if Wilder lands that big right hand? All questions would be answered if they indeed up fighting.

If Joshua v Fury happens as expected, this would be a great consolidation fight for both Usyk and Wilder.
