Liam Williams is Looking to Draw Blood from Chris Eubank Jr

In boxing, a grudge between fighters often happens in the gym. That is the case when it comes to the bad blood between former middleweight challengers Liam “The Machine” Williams (23-3-1, 18 KO’s) and “NextGen” Chris Eubank Jr (31-2, 23 KO’s).

In 2021, the two fighters engaged in a series of all-out verbal assaults on social media. Williams was coming off a defeat to WBO champion Demetrius Andrade back in April 2021. He wasted little time going after Eubank on social media.

“Fuck me….Chris Eubank Jr, you wanna brush up before you come in with me, or I’ll beat the fuck out of you.”

Williams was far from done. He would continue the onslaught with a barrage of disrespectful posts as if it was the greatest hit album.

“That pussy Chris Eubank doesn’t seem to wanna sign on the dotted line.”

It was inevitable these two were going to step into the ring and settle things once and for all. They were originally scheduled to fight on December 11, 2021. However, Williams suffered a shoulder injury that pushed the date back to January 29, 2022, which got moved back until February 5 by the British Boxing Board of Control due to a COVID spike.

KICKING OFF THE WAR

With just a few days until they finally settle it all in the ring, Williams spoke to Seconds Out to explain what started the feud.

“It goes back like […] fucking 10 or 11 years ago. I was in the gym sparring, and he comes in, and you know just being himself, very arrogant […] he didn’t speak to anybody, didn’t look at anybody. I just, from that moment on, I thought, ‘I fucking hate this guy’.”

When asked what fans can expect in their upcoming fight, he kept it short and sweet.

“Blood bath. His blood.”
