Estefany Alegria Wants to Follow Bermudez Upset with Juarez Undisputed Clash!

Newly-crowned unified light flyweight champion Estefany Alegria upset long-reigning champion Evelin Bermudez by unanimous decision. With three belts around her waist, Alegria is ready to challenge fellow Mexican champion and WBC title holder Lourdes Juarez for the undisputed title.

Alegria applied pressure from the opening bell and attacked the body like a demon. She even mixed things up by landing the overhand right and uppercuts when in close. The Mexican’s fighting style had the Argentine champion fighting off the back foot.

Although Bermudez started to find a home with her right hand, she still looked uncomfortable as she tried to fight off Alegria. The body language of the unified champion was one of a defeated fighter as she kept taking hard shots to the body.

The younger, faster, and extremely aggressive challenger took apart the champion throughout the fight. When it was all said and done, all three judges scored for Alegria. Afterwards, she expressed wanting to fight for undisputed against the WBC champion.

When asked during the post-fight interview, she replied without hesitation.

“Absolutely, I already accomplished the first goal. Now would be the second goal.”

A fight with Juarez would be a fan-friendly affair. Both champions love fighting on the inside and don’t believe in taking a step backwards. In addition, the fight could be made in Mexico with solid financial implications.
