Ivan Baranchyk is back in the WBSS after all!

We here at3kingsboxing.comrecently reported IBF junior welterweight champion, Ivan Baranchyk had withdrawn from the WBSS tournament. His reasons were because of a lack of communication from tournament organizers, as well money issues and a lack of a fight date with his fight with Josh Taylor.

However, cooler heads have prevailed and the tournament will go on as planned with the remaining fighters. After causing uncertainty for the tournament, Baranchyk will face Josh Taylor May 18 in SSE Hydro, Glasgow. This will mark the Russian born fighter’s first defense and will be Taylor’s first attempt at a world title.

Everyone worried can now breathe a big sigh of relief and look forward to the tournament match-up on May 18!
