James Ali Bashir has been rushed back to the hospital!
James Ali Bashir, who was hospitalized following a random attack that left him injured during the weigh-in for the Claressa Shields vs Ivana Habazin bout on October 5 has been re-admitted to a Detroit hospital due to what has been diagnosed as bleeding to the brain.
On October 8 at 12:59 pm est, Habazin (who is trained by Bashir) took to Twitter to report that last night Bashir was called by Detroit informing him he needs to be immediately go to a local hospital due to bleeding on the brain. This is a similar diagnosis that retired fighters like Adonis Stevenson, Pritchard Colon and caused the recent death of junior welterweight contender Maxim Dadashev!
This is certainly distressing news to hear about Bashir. The incident that initially put him in the hospital, and forced the cancellation of the unification was ugly and one of the more shocking events that the sport has seen in quite some time. The man known affectionately as “Mr. Bashir” was left with a broken facial bones that required immediate facial surgery.
Now with him having to be immediately re-admitted to the hospital, this situation is going from bad to worse!
