Bomac McIntyre Expecting Bud to Dominate the Spence Rematch
Unsurprisingly, following his first professional loss, former unified welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (28-1, 22 KO’s) activated the rematch clause in the contract. This set him and undisputed 147-pound champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (40-0, 31 KO’s) on a repeat collision course, more than likely to take place at super welterweight. Regardless of the division that the rumble takes place at, Crawford’s chief second, Brian “Bomac” McIntyre, believes the outcome will not be altered.
While providing a brief Q&A with SecondOut, Bomac gave his two cents on how he was approaching the rematch.
“That means it’s time to go to work and pick his ass apart again!”
WALKING THROUGH THE MINEFIELD
Professionally, McIntyre is riding high on recent major victories with Terence Crawford becoming undisputed and latest win with new charge Chris Eubank Jr.. Personally, Bomac has hit what could potentially be a horrible snag. When attempting to return home from the fight with Eubank Jr., he was arrested at the airport. Apparently, the seasoned head trainer had a loaded gun in his baggage.
Upon last notice, McIntyre is still being held in custody until his hearing date this October 9. Hopefully, someone with the necessary influence can get involved to help spring Bomac from his overseas jail call. Regardless of what his fate is meant to be, 3Kings Boxing will be here to chronicle this sticky new chapter in the trainers life.
