Bomac McIntyre Held for Gun Possession in the United Kingdom
Trainer Brian “Bomac” McIntyre found himself in an unexpected predicament when he was detained at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom. The ordeal unfolded after airport security discovered a firearm during a baggage scan, as reported by the Daily Mail.
This incident has delayed Bomac’s plans to head to Atlanta and has left the boxing community buzzing with speculation. After leading Chris Eubank Jr. to a dominant victory performance in the rematch against Liam Smith, he is being held for further questioning.
The police put out a statement that reads as follows:
“At around 10:45am on Sunday 3 September 2023, officers were called to reports of a possible firearm being found in hold luggage by airport staff at Manchester Airport.
After initial inspection by security staff, GMP officers attended, and the firearm was seized.
Subsequently, a 53-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm and was taken to custody for further questioning.
Brian McIntyre (01/07/1970) from the United States of America was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.
McIntyre attended Stockport Magistrates court this morning where he was further remanded into custody.
He is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 9 October 2023.”
Some inside the boxing community consider McIntyre an early candidate for Trainer of the Year. This is due to his fighter Terence “Bud” Crawford winning the undisputed crown with ease against Errol Spence Jr. on July 29.
He broke the news to the boxing world that Spence has activated the rematch clause, and the fight could take place by the end of this year.

Riding a wave of success, Bomac wasted no time in calling out Eubank Jr.’s family rival Conor Benn for a showdown next. The two fighters were supposed to fight until it was canceled after Benn tested positive for a banned substance in October 2022.
As of the writing of this article, there has been no statement released by Mr. McIntyre or Team Eubank Jr.
