Conor McGregor: Is his Boxing Career Finished?

Conor McGregor

McGregor may have fought his first and last fight in a boxing ring!

Will the man known as “The Notorious One” ever make a return into the squared circle?

Connor has a UFC fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov October 6. However, he is technically ranked as a junior middleweight in boxing.

According to Boxrec, that ranking places him at 1,572 best in the world! Not prestigious by any means, but still ranked.

Besides getting locked up and throwing chairs at buses, his last fight was against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

Shortly after his TKO loss, he mentioned in an interview that he plans to return to boxing.

If he decides to follow-up on his word, who is left for him to face? Would he be made to climb the ranking system the traditional way of a prospect? Will he be able to plant himself in another “spectacle” with another popular name?

Many believe his time in boxing was a decision primarily made for financial gain. Therefore, the sentiments put forth by many boxing fans is if he does return, it will only be for another “big money” fight.

In essence, don’t expect Mr. McGregor to put much attention to what is going on in boxing unless there is some monetary incentive behind his state of mind.

Then again, it is boxing. So, anything can happen!
