Cory Marksman Outclasses Gomez To Claim Matchroom Deal!

When faced with his latest opponent, lightweight boxer Corey “Too Smooth” Marksman (13-0-1, 9 KO’s) came out on top by way of UD. Following ten rounds of action, Marksman bested Jaycob “Baki” Gomez (14-1-1, 8 KO’s) to the tune of 98-92 (twice) and 96-94.

Heading into the duel, the two combatants had a potential contract dangling overhead for the winner alone. This was due to global boxing promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing assuring the victor a place among his roster. Therefore, it was no surprise that while conducting his post-fight interview, Too Smooth was sure to bring up the promised prize when addressing Hearn by name.

Unfortunately for him, Hearn was not in attendance at the event and therefore Marksman will have a bit more suspense waiting for an official confirmation. Ideally, the Matchroom Boxing head will make good on his word.

During this contest against Gomez, Marksman appeared to suffer very little battle damage of any note. If so, the talented Floridian should be back in action very soon. So, let’s see what happens with Hearn and the promotional machine behind him. If all goes well for him, this could be a very beneficial turn in Marksman’s professional career.
