Devin Haney puts ink to paper for a deal with DAZN!
What was once speculation is now fact. The dynamic young contender Devin “The Dream” Haney (21-0, 13KOs) has officially signed a contract with DAZN. For the past few days, stories about DAZN courting the talented lightweight have been making their rounds around media outlets.
It’s no secret that DAZN has been aggressively trying to sign American talent to bolster their new app that is being marketed in the states. By and large, the UK based outfit has been rather unsuccessful in signing the bigger named American born fighters. Today, their luck changed!
While the particulars of the contract remain unknown, Haney has indicated that the multi-million dollar contract is a partnership between DAZN and his own company, Devin Haney Promotions. He is set to debut on May 25 with an opponent yet to be determined.
Haney has remained a hot topic since his amateur days and there does not appear to be any dip in interest coming any time soon.
So long as he continues to win and impress, there is no telling how high Haney’s star could rise. Trained by his father, Bill Haney, Devin was last in the ring this past January when he picked up a solid UD victory over Xolisani Ndongeni.
The successful outing was aired on Showtime Boxing. As further indication of his popularity, the bout against Ndongeni was his third outing that was broadcast on Showtime. Congrats to Devin and Team Haney as a whole!
