Devin Haney Advises Vasyl Lomachenko To Take His Loss and Move On
Undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15KO) can’t escape dealing with the fallout over defeating three-divisional champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko. The Dream went after Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas, who filled an aggrievance with the sanctioning bodies.
Immediately following the loss to Haney, Klimas indicated they plan on appealing the decision. Well, he was not joking and posted the letter asking all four major sanctioning bodies to make his fighter the mandatory challenger.
HANEY CALLS LOMACHENKO A PRIVILEGED SORE LOSER
The Dream wasted no time responding by calling the Ukrainian a sore loser. Furthermore, he suggested Hi-Tech push the commission to return the $400,000 fee that was levied against him for pushing the three-divisional champion at the weigh-in.
Haney made boxing fans raise an eyebrow after claiming Top Rank’s Bob Arum was asleep during the fight, after a video surfaced of the legendary promoter telling Hi-Tech he won the fight easily. Agree or disagree with the undisputed champion’s assessment of the behavior of his opponent, but there are other fighters that are waiting in line for their shot that have something to say on the matter.
Golden Boy Promotions’ William Zepeda is rated number one by the WBA and probably won’t appreciate getting moved aside for Lomachenko. Frank Martin has been calling for a title fight since defeating top contender Michel Rivera on December 17, 2022.
Lastly is two-divisional champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson, who has been itching for a shot against Haney. Moreover, boxing fans instantly started throwing in their opinions on who would win a fight between the two, which has been a hot topic of discussion.
