Anthony Dirrell Kicks Dirt on Caleb Plant’s Resume

Come October 15, super middleweight boxer Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (34-2-2, 25 KO’s) and Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (21-1, 12 KO’s) test their might against one another in a WBC eliminator. In this instance, it goes beyond saying that there is no love lost.

Going a step further, The Dog has gone on at length during the fight’s build-up about how much disdain he harbors for Plant. For him, Sweethands simply has not accomplished enough in the sport to maintain the cocky attitude that Dirrell accuses him of having.

“Show me who he fought, please! Show me who he fought, I am trying to figure it out. Or, tell me, somebody! Besides Canelo and Uzetagui, who I gave him credit for. He got credit for that, this shit is different over here. He don’t understand that.”

TELL ‘EM HOW YOU REALLY FEEL!

With these sharp feelings so deeply embedded, it’s unsurprising to hear that Dirrell, 37, does not carry much respect for Plant as a person or athlete.

“I’m trying to figure this out, fuck that bitch up. He a pussy, talking about I want to be his friend – man you crazy as shit! You done lost yo fucking mind, fag! Don’t nobody want to be your friend. I damn sure don’t want to be your friend!”

It will be very telling to see how both men fare in their upcoming duel. In many respects, it’s a must win bout. Plant is trying to rebound from his eleventh round stoppage defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez and cannot afford back-to-back losses. While he is not coming off a loss, Dirrell has not exactly been setting the world on fire.

He is coming off a fourth round knockout win over an easily forgettable Marcos Hernandez. Prior to that, The Dog had a draw with Kyrone Davis and was stopped in the ninth by David Benavidez. This is why their match with one another is so pivotal. Yet, before they can settle this matter in the ring, let’s see what verbal poison arrows they continue to hurl at one another in the meantime.
