Devin Haney talks Gervonta Davis vs Rolly Romero!

There’s no love lost when it comes to WBC lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (26-0, 15KOs) and Rolando “Rolly” Romero (14-0, 12KOs). The two men have been embroiled in a social media war of words for the last few months. Romero, desperately looking to fight Haney, has been unrelenting in pursuit of a shot at the WBC lightweight champion.

However, with a bigger fight now secured with WBA regular lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, his attention has rightfully shifted. You can’t say the same for Haney, who is currently looking for big marquee fight of his own. The unbeaten champion, like Rolly, has called out everyone in and around his division with very little luck at this moment in time.

While awaiting his next in ring assignment, Haney dished on Rolly and his chances of beating Davis in December.

“Tank gone beat the shit out of him. Tank gone fuck him up bad. He gone annihilate him.”

While the two fighters don’t like each other, Haney’s words shouldn’t be taken as hate. The consensus is that Davis will be simply too much for Romero when they step in the ring. While he’s a tremendous power puncher, his skills, ring ability and experience have all been in question. He also is only two fights removed from getting a very questionable decision win over Jackson Marinez back in August of 2020 where he won the interim WBA lightweight title.

Regardless of what the outcome is when Rolly takes on Davis, the fact remains that he has finally secured a big fight; something that Haney can’t yet say. If Rolly pulls off the upset, a potential fight versus Haney to settle their beef would be a very intriguing fight at some point in 2022.
