Eddie Hearn Pushing for New Fight Night Game

Long gone are the days of 8-bit games that were only designed for the use of children. Now, the world of gaming has blossomed into a world-wide billion dollar industry. To support this enormous market, gamers can purchase games themed around just about any possible subject one could dream up. Sports games in particular have become extremely realistic, true to life and outrageously interactive.

Not only do casual gamers love to play them, athletes themselves have openly embraced them and love to talk about their favorite games and systems to play them on. In fact, professional athletes, as well as those on the collegiate level, derive immense joy and pride when they find that they have been featured on one of the more popular brands.

Unfortunately, boxing fans and boxers have not been able to get in on all the fun! Sadly, it’s been nearly ten years since the release of a major fighting game of note. EA Sport’s Fight Night Champions hit stores way back in 2011. Since that date boxing game enthusiasts have been forced to play their old games or simply go without. Hopefully, we will be able to get a new game announcement on the horizon.

EDDIE HEARN PUSHING EA SPORTS

In a recent interview conducted by ThaBoxingVoice, UK boxing promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing stated his desire to see a new game brought to life. Going a step beyond wishful thinking, the colorful wordsmith seems to indicate that he has actually been in contact with EA Sports to tell them about the demand from the market.

“…because every time I tweet about it, it goes crazy! […] I wrote to EA Sports, [to say] do you realize how many questions I get about Fight Night games let me bring it back? ‘oh we’re looking at it, we’re looking at it’. So EA Sports, if you’re watching, or any big game developer, we’re here. Fight Night lets go, it’s going to be number one!”

Let’s hope that if big visible figures such as Eddie Hearn and other insiders continue to publicly call for a new boxing game, some headway can be made. Without question, if a new boxing title was to hit the market, it would do crazy numbers!
