Hearn Says Joshua Has “Major Social Media Issues”

Joshua “Wants To Lay A World Of Pain On Wilder, Parker & Fury”

Eddie Hearn admits that Anthony Joshua has “got a major problem with his social media”Hearn has broken his silence on the recent social media activity of Anthony Joshua.

Joshua came in for plenty of flak over the past week for an Instagram direct message exchange with American heavyweight Eddie Chambers. Chambers released a video on Twitter proving it was Joshua’s certified account in which 3KingsBoxing.com reported at the time. [link below]

He’s got a major problem with his social media accounts,” Hearn said in his statement. “If you look online, there are plenty of other pieces floating around allegedly from Anthony Joshua to other people as well.

“AJ’s team are looking into it. He’s got some major problems with his accounts. No disrespect to Eddie Chambers but he isn’t really on the radar.”

“There have been other people who’ve received messages who you won’t know about because as far as I’m concerned, if you get a message from another man — not necessarily threatening you but man-on-man — why would you put it out publicly?

“The other people who have received messages from AJ haven’t put it out and that’s been dealt with, but this guy obviously thinks Christmas has come early and gets it all out there.”

You will hear from AJ when he gets back from Dubai. His team have made a statement to the press and he’s got a problem with his accounts. A number of things have happened with it and some of them have been quite funny and some of them haven’t.”

Hearn had initially claimed that Chambers had posted messages from an account that wasn’t Joshua’s but when that was proven to be false, he’s seemingly changed his story to suggest that a hack was to blame.

But the Matchroom chief did admit that an earlier aggressive Twitter tirade aimed at the likes of Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder was indeed the work of Joshua.

“He’s the biggest star in British sport and he’s still learning. While he’s a great model, you’ve got to understand where he’s come from,” Hearn added.

“He’s not a public school kid. He’s not someone who won’t react and lash out — he’s a fighter and he’s got that side in him that can switch to being the bad man. He wants to lay a world of pain on Parker, Wilder and Fury and trust me, he will do it. I know what he’s thinking.”
