Revenge or Repeat: Langford vs Welborn Rematch Set

Langford set to rematch Welborn September 8

Former BBBofC Middleweight champion Tommy Langford (20-2 6KO) looks to avenge his loss to current BBBofC champion Jason Welborn (23-6 7KO).

Deemed “Battle of the Baggies,” last May’s contest produced a crowd-pleasing affair. The mettle of both fighters unquestionably displayed in the process.

With the roles of champion and challenger reversed, one has to question if Langford can avenge his loss.

The size and compact build of Welborn can make the fight eerily similar to the first.

Alternatively, will Langford be able to use his skills, height, and reach more effectively this time around?

Recent developments have placed even more interest in the contest as the BBBofC ordered the winner to face WBC International champion, Mark Heffron (20-0 16KO).

Heffron, who is trained by legendary British boxer Rickey Hatton, blew through Andrew Robinson in June and could prove to be quite the challenge for either fighter.
