Lopez Airs Warnings To Richardson Hitchins & Jaron Ennis
WBO junior welterweight champion “The Takeover” Teofimo Lopez (21-1, 13KO) is looking to have a big year in 2025. Two potential opponents are IBF champion 140-pound champion Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7KO) and IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29KO). In addition, he claims that he will be a three-division champion after beating Boots. The spotlight is on Lopez to now back up his boastful talk
Lopez is on the hot seat after coming under fire for lackluster fights in 2024. Before his potential fight with Ennis in October, Lopez could face Hitchins in a major unification bout. Several inside the boxing community view Hitchins as a huge threat to Lopez’s title reign.
HIS CAREER COULD BE ON THE LINE
Hitchins has taken to social media claiming that Lopez is easy work.
This opened an opportunity for the brash WBO champion to reply with a video of his belts and a message for Hitchins and Ennis.
“Yo, Richardson! Yeah boy! Yeah, Hitchinson! Yeah! What’s up brother, what’s up? Hey, you can be training right now, boy. You ain’t gonna get it, you never will! Look at that boy! Teofimo, you better recognize!”
“Boots we coming for three.”
MORE THAN WORDS ARE NEEDED
A summer unification with Hitchins is a match-up that most pundits believe could derail any plans for an Ennis fight in October. Also, if he loses to the IBF champion at 140, there is no guarantee that Lopez will challenge Ennis for the welterweight crown.
Lopez fancies himself as a modern-day great fighter and a future Hall of Famer. With this rumored to occur, it’s put up or shut up time for The Takeover.
