Robeisy Ramirez Easily Outclasses Eric Donovan
In his latest tour of duty, Cuban featherweight prospect Robeisy “El Tren” Ramirez (8-1, 4 KO’s) secured another win. This time the two-time Olympic gold medalist rough-up and worked over a hapless Eric “Lilywhite Lightning” Donovan (14-1, 8 KO’s) in route to a third round stoppage win.
The win was his first by knockout since he stopped Brandon Valdes in the sixth round of their December 2020 dustup. So far, the future remains bright for Ramirez who has remained flawless since losing, and avenging, his professional debut loss. It will be interesting to see how he follows this win up with.
Ramirez got cooking in a hurry and sent a stumbling Donovan to the canvas in the first ninety seconds of the opening period. Although to his credit, Lilywhite Lightening made it to his feet without issue and saw the end of round without absorbing any more serious battle damage.
Over the second period, El Tren continued to dominate and torment Lilywhite. Then in the third, he discombobulated Donovan with a thudding left hook to the ear. With his equilibrium shattered, Lilywhite sprawled out onto the ropes which were the only thing holding him up. Seeing his shabby condition, referee Victor Laughlin quickly intervened to call the fight off.
