Regis Prograis Doesn’t Think Liam Paro Will Hear The Final Bell
Two-time WBC junior welterweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (28-1, 24KO) is ready to fight top contender Liam Paro (23-0, 14KO) on June 17. Moreover, he does not believe the fight will go the distance.
The two-time champion is ready to take things to the next level and spoke about chasing down all the belts to become undisputed. However, Paro is looking to play spoiler and bring Prograis’ plans crashing down before they can get underway.
REGIS PROGRAIS HAS A MESSAGE FOR LIAM PARO
In a promo interview with B4 The Fight, Paro claimed that fans should prepare for an upset.
“This is every fighter’s dream – to go there and fight for the green WBC belt. Man, it’s crazy. You know the last guy that even fought for this title was Kostya Tszyu – that was his old belt . . . to get the job done and hold that belt would mean the world to me.”
“I know what he brings to the table, and look, man, he sits back and boxes . . . If you want a boxing match, I’m gonna take you to school . . . I hope he’s enjoying those dinners with Eddie [Hearn]. I hope he’s overlooking me, I’m praying for it, man. It’s going to be short-lived because I’m here to shock the world.”
Upon getting wind of that last statement, Prograis took to social media with a message for the confident Australian.
When the two-time champion signed with Matchroom Boxing, it helped the British promotional company gain a serious foothold in the division. Equally important, he is returning to his native state of New Orleans for the first time since 2018 in the first defense of the title against Paro.
