Rising undefeated lightweight contender Ryan “The Flash” Garcia (20-0, 17ko), like everyone else, has been chilling on the sideline waiting on the COVID-19 pandemic to ease up so he can return to the ring. However, the young protégé of Canelo Alvarez has been busy on social media. Yet again, he is targeting two-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (24-0, 23ko).

THE SOCIAL MEDIA BAIT

Now, it is well-documented how Garcia will poke fun at the Baltimore power puncher. Nevertheless, there was the time when he put on a pot belly outfit and made it look like Davis was having nightmares of being knocked out by his patented left hook.

Of course, the fun did not stop there. Next was when he baited the two-divisional champion into publicly acknowledging that they will fight in 2021. Moreover, he made it known that there is no wiggle room for Tank to back out.

“There it is! Garcia vs Davis in 2021! You finally decided to confirm it to the public no running away now.”

STILL TAKING SHOTS

Well, hold on! Pump the brakes, because before we can even look at that fight, the young protégé must get past two-time title contender Luke Campbell (20-3, 16ko). This fight was originally set to take place on December 5. However, news of Campbell’s positive COVID-19 test pushed the fight back, and hopefully will kickoff the new year fighting at the American Airlines Center, Dallas on January 2, 2021.

Well, it seems that although he has the Campbell fight to prepare for, ‘The Flash’ would take to social media and trade verbal jabs with his divisional rival.

“Ima have to put boxing on my back after Luke. I’m coming straight for Tank.”

The gas was thrown back on the fire, setting off a blaze of tweets between both fighters, and the boxing community is hoping this leads to them trading leather in the squared circle.
