Shields Open to Lani Daniels or Rematches with Marshall & Crews

Five-division world champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (15-0, 3KO) likes the idea of facing IBF light heavyweight champion Lani “The Smiling Assassin” Daniels (10-2-2, 1KO). In addition, she is open to fights with super middleweight champions “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Franchon Crews-Dezurn (9-2, 2KO) and Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (13-1, 10KO).

On July 27, the self-proclaimed G.W.O.A.T (Greatest Woman Of All-Time) added more belts and accolades to her resume. After knocking out WBC heavyweight champion Vanessa Joanisse, Shields picked up the WBC title and the WBO light heavyweight belt.

POTENTIAL NEXT OPPONENTS

With this fight in the rearview, everyone wants to know what’s next. Shields mentioned names that would include two potential rematches in the post-fight press conference.

“We got Lani Daniels at heavyweight . . . we got two other champions at 168. My sister Franchon Crews, and then we got Savannah Marshall, who I already beat.”

The Smiling Assassin won vacant IBF titles as both a heavyweight and light heavyweight in 2023. The New Zealander will defend the title against Bolatito Oluwole on September 7.

The Heavy Hitting Diva and Shields faced each other in their debut bouts in the professional ranks, with T-Rex walking away with the victory. Crews-Dezurn later captured the undisputed crown before losing the belts to Marshall in July 2023. She is coming off a solid performance with a win over Shadasia Green for the WBC title.

A fight with Silent Assassin is one that boxing fans would love to see again. Marshall and Shields have been epic rivals since their amateur days, with one win apiece. These two rivals are both signed to fight in the Professional Fighters League, where fans thought a third fight would happen in the MMA world.

It will be interesting to see what Shields, who still holds the undisputed middleweight crown, will do next.
