Errol Spence Doubles Down on Wanting the Terence Crawford Fight
On April 16, IBF and WBC welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (27-0, 21 KO’s) will stage another significant unification bout. This time the Truth will face the challenge of Super WBA welterweight champion Yordenis “54 Milagros” Ugas. If successful, Spence would walk away with three of the four major belts.
Of course, boxing fans want a showdown with WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (38-0, 29 KO’s). Hell, the boxing world has been clamoring for this dustup since the moment that Bud ventured in the division four years ago. Sadly, pride and politics have prevented this match from taking place this far. In fact, it’s gone without significant movement for so long that many fans have lost faith in the fight ever taking place.
THE FIGHT FOR THE FANS
It would be a shame if this thrilling duel never took place, but Spence has reassured fans that all is not lost. Going a step further, the Truth explained his optimistic feelings at a recent open media workout.
“I think so, I am hopeful that it can happen. I’ll have three belts, he has his belt so you know that would be the ultimate goal. And I feel like that would be the biggest fight in sports, for the undisputed crown and us two top-five best, pound for pound fighters in the world! I think that is a huge fight, especially us in our prime, it would be a great fight. And I am hoping that that can happen, but like I said, I am not looking past Ugas at all! That is my main priority. That it is the guy that I got to look at. I got to beat him to get Terence Crawford or anybody else.”
Thus far, Spence has proven to be true to his moniker of being ‘The Truth!’ Now let’s see if he can produce one more splendid night of excellence in the ring to move one step closer to undisputed dominance. Yet, without question, Ugas is coming in to ruin his party. So, let’s see what takes place on April 16!
