The Frank Warren, MTK Global and Top Rank merger could see more top fighters on ESPN

3kingsboxing.com recently reported MTK Global has brokered a deal with Top Rank/ESPN. MTK is a boxing management company that represents many of the sports best fighters from the UK, including Tyson Fury.

Fury was just in the news for signing a massive deal which would see him featured on ESPN. It seems that some of Fury’s friends, and MTK represented fighters will be following suit.

More to Come

It’s being reported that Billy Joe Saunders, Josh Warrington, Carl Frampton, and Daniel Dubois will all be signing with Top Rank. All four fighters are currently promoted by Frank Warren, who himself signed a deal in merging with Top Rank/ESPN in September 2018.

Frampton and Saunders are managed by MTK Global, so the companies all working together on behalf of the fighters is a no brainer.

Josh Warrington & Carl Frampton

Adding Warrington and Frampton to Top Ranks featherweight stable is a massive move. Warrington who is the current IBF champion, is an all action fighter. A showdown with Top Rank WBO champion Oscar Valdez is a mouth watering affair.

Bringing a world renowned veteran like Frampton in to a roster that has former champion Jessie Magdeleno, Michael Conlan and Shakur Stevenson should also be fruitful.

Billy Joe Saunders

Saunders has long been one of the UK’s most talented fighters, however, inactivity and lack of focus have made many wonder if he will ever capitalize on his potential.

The former WBO middleweight champion is moving up to super middleweight April 13. Having an entity behind Saunders that can keep him busy and focused should be good for his career.

Daniel Dubois

Lastly, super prospect Daniel Dubois would be a welcome addition to the Top Rank stable. They’ve been trying to bolster their heavyweight ranks, and having a prospect of this caliber is always a good thing.

The 21 year old knocked out former title challenger Razvan Cojanu recently and will be looking for more significant challenges. There are still obstacles in the negotiations for Dubois to sign, and he isn’t nearly as far along in the signing process as the aforementioned fighters

This all good news for boxing fans! Having more access to some of the world best fighters is always a plus.

All the top boxing platforms are making a major talent push lately. The Frank Warren/Bob Arum connection gives a lot of good possible match-ups that we wouldn’t have previously considered.

With boxing’s ever changing landscape, we may see more of these promotions coming together to combat the competition. For boxing fans, that’s a dream come true!
