Deontay Wilder not concerned with the Fury clan’s verbal or fighting tactics
On October 9, Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KO’s) will stage a trilogy match with his bitter rival Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s). For Wilder, it has been a long and tiresome trek to get this fight done. Wilder’s path to revenge was repeatedly impeded, including by the COVID pandemic and an evasive opponent in Fury. Ultimately after the Bomber won an arbitration that he initiated, the bout was upheld and now fight week is upon us.
Following their second outing, Wilder has called Tyson Fury a cheat from every plugged in microphone and television set available. The Alabaman native is adamant that the UK bruiser, at the least, tampered with his gloves. He realizes that many are dismissive of his claims that Tyson Fury is essentially an underhanded character. However, the Bomber is not bothered. Instead, Wilder merely challenges nonbelievers to conduct their own research. This is exactly what he suggested when recently on Brian Custer’s the Last Stand Podcast.
“Look at his rap sheet. I challenge anyone to go and search him and look him up and look at all his rap sheets. From all the cheating, from the gloves to the boar meat to all the PED’s and all that different things that he’s done. I dare them to go…look up the history…go do the research yourself! I dare someone to do that! Only then will you find your own answer to the question. We are all subject to our own opinion but sometimes we have to do our own homework to really see the truth behind certain people.”
SAVE YOURSELF!
With all the emphasis placed on Fury’s alleged duplicitous chicanery it will be interesting to see what Team Wilder has put in place to ensure a rule abiding bout. Yet, in any event, he is not going to tip his hand at this point in time.
“Well, we can’t say too much. I don’t want to give away too much because I know everyone is listening. No matter what platform or where I go, people pay attention and they follow along with what I say, whether they agree with it or not. And just know that we got a lot of things lined up. We got a lot of things in place and one thing for sure, the world is going to be watching!”
Yet, if there is one thing that is a guarantee, Deontay Wilder will not be relying on the commission to catch any wrong doing!
“And if I hear one more mothafucka talking about the commissioners and the inspectors, I am going to slap em! I’m going to have my lawyer right there too, but I am going to slap em! Because that is a lie bro, that’s a lie. A lot of these guys are just Office Depot workers, Lowes, you know the grocery store or whatever you want to call it. They don’t understand or know certain things, they don’t! They are just doing a job bro. And that’s just it, it ain’t me just downplaying them, it’s telling the truth.
They don’t understand certain things. There has been times that fighters put their gloves on and is hitting the wall and you see a commissioner, you’ll see an inspector right there ain’t saying shit because they don’t know it ain’t doing no damage or nothing, they probably just think, ‘that mothafucka crazy!’ They don’t understand. And in the history of boxing, there has never been a commissioner or inspector [that] caught anyone, of any sort or any race cheating and that’s facts! It’s only been the trainers and the fighters, that’s it.”
