Sultan Zaurbek Beats Nicolas Botelli by KO

In his most recent at bat, super featherweight boxer Sultan Zaurbek (13-0, 9 KO’s) kept his record flawless, even if the match was not. This is due to being floored by Nicolas “Pitbull” Botelli (11-7, 6 KO’s) in the third before stopping Botelli in the fifth. Zaurbek was navigating the bout well enough until a swift straight right on the chin put him on the seat of his pants near the center ring.

To his credit, the Kazakhstani fighter was up in an instant and didn’t appear overly affected. It was a short lived victory for Botelli, as a body shot temporarily crippled and stopped him in the fifth. While fighting with his back to the straps, Zaurbek caught Pitbull with a hard, piercing single left hook to the body. The damaging blow had a delayed reaction but sent Botelli crumbling to his hands and knees nevertheless. The Argentine boxer was not able to master the pain or beat the count.

With this win, the #8 (WBA) and #13 (WBO) ranked fighter is sure to increase his standings. It will be interesting to see who he targets next. Zaurbek, 25, has traveled around a bit during his professional career but has yet to go to war in the US. Perhaps now is the chance to make that move. He could pursue a match with #7 (WBA) ranked pugilist Albert Bell out of the Top Rank stable. Or, he could reasonably go after #4 (WBA) and #5 (WBO) ranked boxer Lamont Roach housed in the Golden Boy stable. At the moment, there is no telling what is next for him, but his next out will be a revealing one for Zaurbek!
