Adrien Broner Wants To Settle Regis Prograis Beef In 2023

Rivals in boxing are what keep the sport alive and the fans engaged. The fighters, at some point, need to step into the ring to settle their beef. This is the situation between two-time junior welterweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (28-1, 24KO) and multi-divisional champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (34-4-1, 24KO). These two rivals could lock horns to settle their beef in 2023.

BRONER VS PROGRAIS BEEF IS STILL ALIVE

During an interview on The Porter Way Podcast, Broner once again targeted Rougarou upon mentioning his return to the junior welterweight division.

“First, I want Regis, of course, get him on out the way.”

The beef can be traced back to 2019. During a social media rant, Broner was quick to drop his name stating “I’ll fuck buddy up.”

During an interview with 3kingsboxing.com, the New Orleans native was more than happy to respond by indicating Broner is a shot fighter.

A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY HAS PRESENTED ITSELF

There is a small window of opportunity where these two can finally settle up in the ring. Prograis was supposed to defend the title against mandatory challenger and former champion Jose Ramirez. However, Ramirez was unhappy with the sanctioning body’s percentage split and decided to forego the title fight.

In addition, the WBC has granted Rougarou a voluntary defense while they figure out the next step. If Broner is victorious in his upcoming battle with Ivan Redkach on February 25, it opens the possibility of a fight taking place between the two rivals.

There are other moving parts that will need to happen for the fight to take place. However, BLK Prime has shown they are willing to shell out serious cash to get a foothold in boxing. It is not out of the bounds to think they would do the same to secure another championship fight.
