As boxing continues it’s comeback, there’s a big fight out there between WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21KOs) and former champion Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41KOs). Both are preparing to lock horns for a third time. However, despite December 19 being targeted, they have no set date. Bob Arum, who co-promotes Fury, told iFL TV the following regarding the latest news on the upcoming rubber match possibly taking place in the middle December.

“That is accurate. Together with PBC, we checked our distributors, theirs being FOX and ours being ESPN, and both companies said that was the marvelous date. No football games, nothing to interfere; smooth sailing and now we’re hoping against hope that we can do that fight in Allegiant Stadium here in Las Vegas, which is where the Las Vegas Raiders play. It’s a new two billion dollar state of the arts stadium. It seats 65,000 people in the stands and maybe another five or six thousand on the ground and we hope to get permission to do it for about twenty to twenty five thousand spectators.”

If you’re looking forward to this fight, this is good news. It appears that the rumored December 19 date is all but a sure thing. With both distributors onboard, it seems like it’s a matter of time before we get news of a finalized deal.
