Brandun Lee Loses by Majority Decision to Cain Sandoval!
In his second duel of the year, welterweight fighter Cain “Sugar” Sandoval (18-1, 15 KO’s) rebounded from his January 23 unanimous decision loss to Julian Rodriguez in style. Sandoval pulled this off by thumping and ultimately defeating long-time boxing project Brandun Lee (30-1, 23 KO’s) by way of majority decision.
When the cards were read, Sugar prevailed to the tune of 95-95, 96-94 and 97-93. Despite the closeness of the scores, this was largely a one-sided fight. It will be interesting to see what is next for both fighters. Lee has only fought three times in the last three years. Undoubtedly, he was meant to shine in this outing. It will be revealing to see how his team begin the rebuilding process.
By the same token, Sandoval certainly will be aiming to capitalize on this fortuitous victory. Unfortunately, his marquee name value is not likely going to secure him any life-changing payday in his next outing. Nevertheless, he is back in the win column and just claimed a solid scalp on a big stage. Ideally, he and his team will parlay this into a beneficial situation in short order.
