Deontay Wilder Is Befuddled With His Performance
Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (43-3-1, 42KO) turned in a dud of a performance against former WBO champion Jospeh Parker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Wilder fans all over the world were left confused and bewildered as they witnessed Parker dominate the fight over twelve rounds. According to the Alabamian, he is just as confused and could not explain his subpar outing.

NOT A GOOD LOOK
From the opening bell, the Alabamian elected to use the ring and sparingly looked to shoot his money shot: the straight right. Instead, he had very low volume with little to no aggression. Furthermore, while Wilder has never been considered a defensive wizard, he repeatedly kept his face in front of Parker’s overhand right.
The only time Wilder looked himself was in the final round where he showed a sense of urgency being down on the cards. By then, it was a little too late and he would have needed to score a bone-crushing, concussive knockout to be victorious. Not to say he couldn’t have done it, but given how the previous eleven rounds went, the probability was low.
Wilder mentioned he plans on coming back and is not exploring the option of retirement. If so, he may need to rediscover his identity in the ring if he plans on having any success against even the ‘B’ level competition going forward.
