Frank Martin Calls Out Devin Haney for a World Title Fight

Top-rated lightweight Frank “The Ghost” Martin (17-0, 12KO) continues to pursue a fight with undisputed champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KO). Since defeating Michel Rivera on December 17, 2022, The Ghost has called out the top names in the division, including Haney.

As the undisputed champion, The Dream knows full well that people are gunning for a shot at the titles. During an interview with FightHype, Martin did not hesitate to claim he is ready for a title shot.

“I’m not ducking nobody. It ain’t no, ‘let’s get him ready’. I’m ready for him, right now. You know, if they want to give me the opportunity and let me show what I can do, I’m ready for him right now.”

FRANK MARTIN HAS A MESSAGE FOR DEVIN HANEY

Of course, Haney caught wind of this statement and took to social media with a jab about Martin’s age. Martin was not going to let that comment slide and swiftly replied by challenging Haney.

In fairness, Haney does have a point. At 28 years-old, Martin should be ready. Keep in mind, at 24 years old, The Dream is the youngest undisputed champion in the four-belt era. In addition, when looking at guys like Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis, they are multi-divisional champions already. So although the undisputed champion poked fun at his rival’s age, it was within bounds when considering what he’s accomplished at an early age.

Martin is within an eyeshot of a title fight, being ranked number two by the WBA. He recently created a buzz on social media when a video surfaced of him talking to WBA number one contender William Zepeda about a possible fight.
