Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder trilogy is confirmed says Frank Warren!

Queensbury Promotions head Frank Warren has confirmed in an interview with TalkSPORT that former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (42-1-1, 41ko) has invoked his rematch clause which sets up a trilogy with Ring/WBC champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (30-0-1, 21ko).

On February 22 at the MGM Grand in Las vegas, the boxing world witnessed the fall of one champion and the rise of another. Fury, true to his word, knocked out the former world champion in a way nobody would have believed was possible!

Shortly after, Wilder took to social media in a video that went viral promising all of his fans that “he will regain the title.” Wilder has done just that, ending the speculations and making it official.

The argument among many inside the boxing community is if the fight was going to be in the summer that perhaps it was too soon of a return given the nature of the beating the Alabama power-puncher suffered.

However, it appears that is exactly what’s going to happen as the targeted date is July 18. The two will also return to the scene of the crime in Las Vegas! Once again, the city in the desert will be on fire and flooded with another British invasion that undoubtedly the fans will be in full force for.

In the interview, the British Promoter would explain why the fight is taking place in the US while pointing to the language in the contract.

“Yes he [Deontay Wilder] has invoked a rematch clause so that is what we are working towards. It’s contracted to take place in the United States. That is in the contract and set in stone unless anyone agrees differently.”

By all accounts, it looks like we will be in for another explosive night in Las Vegas, this time in the middle of the summer!
