Devin Haney Takes Shots at Loss Claims Aired by Regis Prograis

On December 9, one-time undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15 KO’s) will venture into the super lightweight division for the first time. In that introductory bout, he will face WBC 140-pound champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-1, 24 KO’s). During the build-up for this duel, Prograis has made it no secret that he believes he will batter and stop Haney within the distance. Now, Rougarou has upped the ante by airing his suspicion that Team Haney has deceptively covered up a past loss.

I SHOW BETTER THAN TELLING!!

As expected, Haney was quick to shoot down the accusation by somewhat clowning Prograis and the source of the rumor. Perhaps The Dream was so swift on the trigger because he’s had a great deal of practice defending his name and value. For a couple years, he was relegated to being called the ‘email champion’ due to his acquiring a vacated WBC title. After securing the single strap, as mentioned earlier, Haney would go on to become undisputed. Going a step further, The Dream staged successful title defenses against George Kambosos and Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Paying his detractors no heed, Haney remains supremely confident that his skillset will help him overcome any adversary in the ring. In his mind, Prograis is no exception. This is why, as he explained to Fight Hype, he will show Rougarou the true separation of their in-ring ability.

“A lot, a lot and that’s for me to show on fight night; That’s for me to prove on fight night and I will, I will show him that there are levels! He’s good, don’t get me wrong, but I am just on a different level and that’s all I want to prove.”

As it often is, both boxers will have a great deal of tough talk to back up come fight night. Each have said that the other will pale in comparison, yet, obviously both can’t be correct. Thankfully, no matter who proves their point, or how much sleights and threats are traded, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report all the latest happenings in this rivalry and the general sport at large.
