Eddie Hearn Invites Amanda Serrano to Make the Katie Taylor Rematch!
The historical fight at Madison Square Garden between undisputed lightweight champion Katie “KT” Taylor (21-0, 6KO) and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (42-2-1, 30) had fans calling for a rematch after the decision. Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn believes the rematch could happen next due to recent events.
On April 30, Serrano and Taylor blew the roof off of MSG as their epic battle ended with KT getting the win via split decision. During the post-fight interview, both champions were down for the rematch, and it would have easily been a bigger event the second time around.

However, team Serrano changed their minds as the unified champion decided on returning to her division to defend the belts. Now, Hearn suggested that Serrano was not keen on taking another loss to Taylor and preferred to get a win under her belt first.
TEAM SERRANO NEEDS TO GIVE HEARN A CALL
This move left fans wondering if the rematch was going to happen this year, given that Serrano had a date with Brenda Carbajal at MSG on August 6. Well, fans can rejoice just a little as the recent cancellation of Serrano’s fight with Carbajal has created a window of opportunity.
During an interview on the DAZN boxing show, Hearn expressed having no problem making the rematch, and all team Serrano needs to do is make a phone call.
“If Amanda Serrano thinks that she beat her (Taylor) before, she can have another crack at that for more money than she made last time, in a bigger event in an iconic event in front of 80,000 people. But, they chose to take an easier fight and have a little runout and get paid.
By the way, that didn’t happen. They now need to find another slot for Amanda Serrano, or they can pick up the phone and make a rematch.”
This is music to the boxing community’s ears as the fans desire to see these two run it back. Let’s see if team Serrano picks up the phone and begin negotiations for the rematch.
