In his next outing, rising heavyweight contender Jared “Big Baby” Anderson (14-0, 14KO) is stepping up his competition by facing Zhan Kossobutskiy (19-0, 18KO). This will be a battle of two knockout artists. According to ESPN, Anderson will be the main event in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, on July 1. He has not been shy in calling out some of the top names in the sport such as Frank Sanchez, Filip Hrgovic, and Dillian Whyte.

Big Baby is coming off a sensational stoppage over little-known heavyweight George Arias in three quick rounds on April 8. Boxing enthusiasts believe he is the next big American heavyweight champion, but there has been a call for better competition.

In steps Kossobutskiy, an amateur standout who has won several National Championships in his home country of Kazakhstan. Moreover, he will be making his American debut in the upcoming contest against Anderson. Boxing fans are not familiar with his work due to the lack of exposure.

The WBC #8 ranked fighter holds the WBC International title, along with with wins over former title challenger Johann Duhaupas. In his last outing, Kossobutskiy took away the undefeated record of Hussein Muhamed within three rounds in November 2022.

Anderson has been rising up the ranks also. He is ranked #7 (WBO) and #11 (WBC, WBA). Taking on a big puncher and quality opponent like Kossobutskiy is a sign he is ready to start marching toward a title shot.

With these two big, punching heavyweights, fans can be certain this fight won’t go the distance.
