Jeff Horn – Tim Tszyu set for Australian Showdown!
Former WBO welterweight champion Jeff “The Hornet” Horn ( 20-2-1, 13KOs) and Australian rival Tim Tszyu (15-0, 11KOs) were originally set for battle in April 2020. However, COVID-19 would see that fight date cancelled. Now, at long last, the two Australians will get to settle things in the ring.
Jeff Horn will face Tim Tszyu on August 26 at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Australia. The fight will be take place in front of 16,000 people. These guys have been throwing verbal shots at one another for quite some time now. With the fight finally signed, sealed and delivered, we all get to see who Australia’s best boxer truly is.
Both Horn and Tszyu are coming off of victories in their most recent fights. Back in December, Horn exacted revenge on Michael Zerafa (27-4, 16KOs) by winning a majority decision in their rematch. As for Tszyu, he defeated Jack Brubaker (16-3-2, 8KOs) by fourth round TKO.
Will the former champion’s experience be too much for the unproven Tszyu, or will the younger, fresher son of a legend push Horn closer to the end of his career? All of these questions will be answered on August 26.
