Kell Brook: “I’m Actively Seeking The Help I Need With Retirement”

Difficulties Go From Bad to Worse for Kell Brook

Kell Brook Hits a New Low Amid his Struggles with Retirement

The outside-the-ring struggles continue for one Kell “Special K” Brook (40-3, 28 KOs). He is now in the middle of damage control. 3kingsboxing.com reported that the one-time IBF welterweight champion has had difficulty coping with life away from boxing. Things have taken a disturbingly dark turn.

DOWNWARD SPIRAL

British media outlet The Sun shared a video of Brook at his residence snorting a white substance that appeared to be cocaine. Brook has now released the following statement.

Boxing fans are shocked and disheartened at this development. Special K decided to walk away from the sport in May 2022 following a stoppage win over arch-rival Amir Khan in February 2022.

NOT ALONE

He is not the first boxer to have their share of troubles after calling it a day. Multi-divisional world champion and Hall of Famer Sugar Ray Leonard had similar struggles. During his three-year retirement from the sport from 1983-1986, Leonard said his life took a downward turn and admitted to indulging in cocaine. Two-division champion Nigel Benn fell into a deep depression after retiring in 1996. Years of drug abuse, partying, and family chaos caught up to the great British fighter. In 1999, Benn attempted to take his own life.

Both Leonard and Benn were able to overcome their demons and now live productive lives. Can Brook follow suit and get the help he needs to overcome his issues? We at 3kingsboxing.com hope that Special K can find solace for himself and his family.
