Marcos Maidana has officially stopped training for a comeback!

Former two division world champion Marcos “El Chino” Maidana has decided continue his retirement after training for a comeback.

The Argentine fighter was set to fight this summer as part of a three fight deal with PBC. However Maidana felt he just didn’t have the hunger to compete, so he’ll end his training in Las Vegas and return to Argentina.

With this decision, he will be walking away from a multi-million dollar deal!

Those who follow him on social media were surprised by his comeback attempt as the former champ had gained a lot of weight and seemed to be enjoying his retirement. Maidana was a very entertaining fighter compiling a record of (35-5, 31KOs) as well as giving Floyd Mayweather arguably two of the toughest fights of his career.

To many who could not wait to see if he could shake up the division he chose to campaign in, this will be unfortunate news. To others, the skepticism of Maidana actually being able to make a comeback seems to be justified!

If his decision is set in stone, 3kingsboxing.com would like to wish him a happy second retirement!
