Pacquiao Set To Return In April
Superstar Manny Pacquiao is set to return to the ring in April. His opponent isn’t expected to be announced until after the first of the year.
Pacquiao most recently lost a controversial decision to Australia’s Jeff Horn back in July and was originally scheduled to face the Brisbane native in a rematch in November. That fight was postponed due to Pacquiao’s senatorial duties.
In the meantime Horn has moved on to a fight with Gary Corcoran later this month and is reportedly set to face former undisputed junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford in the first quarter of next year.
While talking to 3kingsboxing.com Pacquiao said they have opened negotiations with two other options, Conor McGregor and Keith Thurman, as well as a possible rematch with Horn for his April return.
“Yes we have initially talked to them both. We’re waiting on a response at this time.”
“We heard they were interested in fighting so we are interested to.”
While the bigger name is McGregor it is unclear how much real interest would be generated with a fight between the two.
The possibility of a fight with WBA & WBC champion Thurman however is one that would draw interest from inside the sport itself and allow detractors of Pacquiao’s the opportunity to put him out to the pasture once and for all. Or…
