Jarrell Miller extends his support to Dillian Whyte!

On July 20, UK boxer Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte fought the undefeated Oscar “Kaboom” Rivas in Greenwich, London. The bout received extra weight when it was revealed that the winner would receive the WBC interim heavyweight title and be named the mandatory for champion Deontay Wilder.

THE BRANDED BOXERS BOND

After surviving a knock down in the ninth, Whyte would outbox Rivas en route to a unanimous decision win. Unfortunately, a couple days after the victory, it was publicized he had failed a drug test conducted by UKAD prior to the fight.

The test detected two metabolites of a banned anabolic steroid in his system. To make matters worse, Team Rivas was never notified about the findings until after the match took place. Outside of one very curiously worded tweet by promoter Eddie Hearn, Team Whyte has been quiet and out of sight.

Perhaps not surprisingly, fellow heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1, 20 KO’s) has come to the Body Snatcher’s defense. Miller failed a now infamous drug test earlier this year where three banned substances were detected.

Miller’s incident became wildly sensationalized because he also lost a mega-fight with Anthony “AJ” Joshua. It was arguably the worst single violation in the history of the sport.

Now, Whyte has become the focus of similar negative attention. As such, Miller wanted to show his support, as well as throw a little shade on the WBC champ Deontay Wilder.

“You know, me and Dillian got in contact with each other and we just been talking man, leveling up with one another and I honestly don’t have nothing bad to say about Dillian Whyte, you know what I mean?

“He’s a good dude, he’s a brotha, he’s funny, he’s a warrior and in this sport of boxing, you know, things happen. So, I’m not going to sit here and bash Dillian Whyte. I’m not going to do that, that’s not my character.”

THROWING SHADE & SLANDER

After offering his warm sentiments to Whyte, Big Baby took the time to throw a few shots at Wilder. Miller found it odd how many people were quick to negatively label himself and Whyte without knowing all the facts.

Obviously, he placed the Bronze Bomber on the top of this list. When the news broke, Wilder took to his Instagram account and uploaded a lengthy, unflattering post dedicated to the Body Snatcher’s suspected violation.

Clearly, Big Baby did not care for this action. However, Wilder was not posting just to be posting. For most of two years, Whyte has kept his name glued to boxing headlines while seeking a fight with Wilder.

In that time, The Body Snatcher has repeatedly claimed that Wilder is not that great a fighter. Further he maintains that he is a weak champion, afraid of him and that the WBC is shamefully protecting him. So, when it came out that he had failed the drug test in the fight that officially made him the WBC mandatory, Wilder had to say a little something!

Aside from Whyte specifically targeting him all this time, the champ commonly speaks out as an advocate of cleaning the sport up. Therefore, it would not have been all that out of place if the Alabama power-puncher spoke on the matter even if Whyte was not pursuing him with such vigor.

Apparently, this history didn’t mean much to Miller. He still took the time to throw Wilder and his brother, under the bus.

“What kind of eggs me is how quick Deontay is so quick to go on social media and write a long-ass [post] but he always been emotional. We all know Deontay is [one of] the emotional fighters in the division, you know?

“A lot of people don’t know his brother [Marsellos] failed a drug test back in April and you don’t hear him saying nothing about that. So, for him to go on media and blast Dillian Whyte over something? Handle yo business because we know you broke your hand three times, four times, whatever the case may be and how you healed your hand so fast?

“So stop it, you know what I mean? Like, boxing is a weird sport, you know, things happen.”

Ironically, Miller’s accusations of Marsellos Wilder of being caught for doping were not true. It is true that a number of stories ran in the media claiming that he had failed a drug test. However, the accusation would later prove to be a false rumor. Marsellos was guilty of an infraction, but it had nothing to do with PED’s.
