John Molina Jr withdraws from Sergey Lipinets bout!

Former IBF junior welterweight champion Sergey Lipinets will face an unfamiliar foe when he steps in the ring on the under-card of Keith Thurman vs Manny Pacquiao.

Instead of facing former lightweight title challenger John Molina, he’ll now be facing Jayar Inson (18-2, 12KOs).

This comes on the heels of Molina pulling out of the fight due to an back injury. At 36 years-old, this may have been Molina’s last significant opportunity to showcase himself on a big stage.

Inson, who’s promoted by Pacquiao, was last in the ring losing a decision to little known contender Jonathan Steele in January. A this point in his career, he has yet to face anyone of the caliber of Lipinets.

The fight will still take place as part as the televised portion of the Thurman vs Pacquiao under-card, but will without a doubt take away some interest in the undercard.
