New Fight Date For Naoya Inoue vs Stephen Fulton


Former undisputed bantamweight champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue (24-0, 21KO) dropped the new fight date for the upcoming bout against unified super bantamweight champion Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton (21-0, 8KO).

On March 21, the boxing community received news of the fight postponement after Monster suffered an injury. Fulton quickly took to social media to calm the fans’ panic, claiming the fight will happen on a new date.

Well, fans will wake up to their morning coffee with the new fight date after Inoue revealed the information on social media.

This is good news as men’s boxing is suffering from the lack of fights that move the needle in the sport.

THE BACKSTORY OF HOW WE GOT HERE

After capturing the undisputed bantamweight crown, Inoue created a huge buzz by announcing a move into the super bantamweight division.

Fulton excited fans even more after abandoning plans to rematch Brandon Figueroa for the WBC Interim featherweight title. One of the reasons he stated for the change in direction is due to fans accusing him of ducking.

Many boxing enthusiasts view Inoue vs Fulton as a mega-fight. Both fighters are in their prime, undefeated, and exceptionally skilled at their craft.

Inoue is far more than just a power puncher. He is highly effective at fighting off the front foot, a good body puncher has fast hands, and a high ring I.Q.

Fulton can hold his own with the best of them as well. He is very athletic and uses his footwork to switch from offense to defense with ease. Moreover, his counter-punching, fast hands, and ring I.Q. is on par with Inoue’s.
