Heavyweight Prospect David Adeleye Drawing Increasing Attention

Boxing promoters are always looking to refresh their stable of champions with talented young prospects. These fighters display serious potential and are viewed as the future of the sport. David “Big D” Adeleye (11-0, 10KO), fighting under Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, is such a prospect.

Big D made a name for himself on the amateur circuit by winning the junior ABA championship. He followed that up by winning the senior ABA title twice. Far from done, Adeleye won a gold medal in the British Universities and Colleges Sports Boxing Championships. He has traveled internationally while representing England to gain even more experience.

So, it comes as no surprise that Warren was quick to scoop him up as an addition to a heavyweight stable featuring WBA Regular champion Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce, and WBC champion Tyson Fury.

ADELEYE IMPROVES FROM SPARRING WITH THE CHAMP

Fury has preached high praise of the young man on several occasions. Moreover, he flew the 26-year-old to camp in Las Vegas as a sparring partner for the rematch with Deontay Wilder. Ayedele has gained a ton of experience from sparring with the WBC champion, which has shown in his fights on the professional level.

The hard puncher from Ladbroke Grove, London, stopped his first five opponents with ease. On February 17, in what should have been the biggest test of his career, Adeleye brutalized another prospect in Dmytro Bezus with a devastating second-round stoppage. He picked up the vacant WBO European title in the process.

With the buzz beginning to get louder around the young prospect, Big D seems to be ready for the spotlight.
