Hannah Rankin and Maria Lindberg to clash in WBA junior middleweight title bout!
Former world title challengers Hannah Rankin (10-5, 2KOs) and Maria Lindberg (19-7-2, 10KOs) will return to the ring on November 5 when they square off with each other. The vacant WBA junior middleweight title will be up for grabs, as both women look to finally become a world champion. This feat is something that has eluded both so far in their careers. Lindberg is ranked number 8 in the WBA standings while Rankin is ranked number 9.
Ironically enough, both women have recently and unsuccessfully fought for the WBO middleweight title. Each was also stopped by the hard-hitting, unbeaten WBO middleweight champion, Savannah Marshall (10-0, 8KOs). While both women have a wealth of experience, they also have a lot of mileage on their bodies. Especially Lindberg, who’s 44 years old. This could very well be both ladies’ final opportunity at world title glory.
