Regis Prograis Informs Devin Haney What Awaits Him If They Fight

When WBC super lightweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-1, 24 KO’s) last stepped in the ring, he did technically prevail. Yet for the hometown fight, Prograis turned in a seriously lackluster performance versus Danielito Zorrilla. He even managed to avoid being charged with a knockdown after being felled early in the fight. Despite the soggy showing, Rougarou remained very fired up about the prospect of facing undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15 KO’s).

Haney’s father and chief second, Bill Haney, attended the Prograis versus Zorrilla prizefight in hopes that the champion emerged victorious. With that mission accomplished, Bill wasted little time linking his son up with Rougarou via Facetime. Once virtually face to face, Prograis dove deep in his bag of bravado.

“I’m going to fuck you up! Like I told your dad, I am going to whoop your ass! Don’t get that one performance fucked up, I’m going to bust your ass. It ain’t going to be that way with you!”

DO WE HAVE A FIGHT?!

It’s long since been known that it’s hell on wheels for Haney to make 135. In fact, he has only remained at the division to secure legacy fights such as the recent Lomachenko duel. This is said to say, his exodus to super lightweight is well overdue. With the leap in weight so imminent, the potential pairing of The Dream and Rougarou has already been shopped around.

Not that Haney would have tried to avoid Prograis, but his latest night in the office certainly should make it easier for him to sign the contract. Thankfully, no matter what happens, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news.
