Ryan Garcia Accepts a Conditional Offer from Devin Haney

“King” Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19KO) is willing to fight undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KO), if he is victorious against Gervonta Davis on April 22.

Ryan Garcia willing to face Devin Haney next

The Dream may have finally figured out a way to get the fight he’s always wanted against Garcia. These two have a long history that goes a long way back. In 2021, the boxing community was under the impression the fight was going to happen after King Ryan overcame adversity by getting up off the canvas to stop Luke Campbell in a WBC title eliminator.

However, Garcia decided to pursue what he views as the more dangerous opponent against Davis. Then-WBC champion Haney was not too happy about his decision and quickly took to social media to remind the fans Garcia could have fought for a title instead of doing another eliminator.

WHY THE CHANGE OF HEART?

Garcia is all set and ready to tangle with Davis live in a joint Pay-Per-View venture between Showtime and DAZN. However, his complaints leading up to the fight have been the many stipulations that Team Davis put in the contract. Moreover, he has been extremely vocal over the 10-pound next-day weigh-in rehydration clause.

It seems the undisputed champion’s willingness to forgo the games of rehydration clauses and fighting at the junior welterweight limit has piqued Garcia’s interest. Boxing fans will be paying even more attention to the upcoming fight between Garcia and Davis. Equally important, Haney will have to get past former unified champion Vasyl Lomachenko on May 20.
