Anthony Joshua To Show His Superiority Against Daniel Dubois

Anthony “AJ” Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) will attempt to become a three-time heavyweight champion when he faces reigning IBF belt-holder Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21 in London, England. There’s been plenty of debate about which fighter will win. On balance, AJ holds the advantage in this upcoming duel. He intends to put all of his talents on full display once the bell rings.

BUILDING HIMSELF BACK UP`

The last two years have been a revelation and a transformation for Joshua. Following a rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022, Joshua was crestfallen and at a crossroads in his career. However, with personal introspection and the hiring of trainer Ben Davison, AJ is fighting with a renewed hunger. The improvement from Joshua has been noticeable.

In their first fight together as fighter and trainer, Joshua dominated and stopped Otto Wallin in five rounds in December 2023. AJ followed up that performance with a devastating second-round knockout over Francis Ngannou in March 2023.

The two-time unified champion has improved his jab. He’s less robotic and the combinations are more fluid. More importantly, there’s an aggression from Joshua that’s been missing for several years.

The IBF champion is confident that he will cause Joshua to quit. However, during an exclusive interview with the UK’s TNT Sport, AJ was not fazed by Dubois and his reputation as a puncher.

“One of his biggest attributes, what I’ve heard, will not bother me . . . It’s all about on the night. I’m a different beast.”

WHAT WILL SERVE AS THE DIFFERENCE

Dubois is physically strong with a solid jab and power in both hands. However, he’s also flat-footed, has average hand speed and leaves himself open. He also notably less effective when he’s forced to fight moving backwards.

Joshua has the size to handle Dubois’s physicality. He has the accuracy and power to make Dynamite pay for every mistake. More importantly, AJ has a big advantage in skill and world class experience.

Anthony Joshua has been down this road before and knows how to handle the atmosphere of a big event. This version of AJ is confident and reinvigorated. If on his A-game, Joshua can win and do so by stoppage.
