On September 10, WBC 130-pound champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (12-1, 7KOs) will be participating in the biggest fight of her career on the undercard of Claressa Shields v Savannah Marshall.. The hard-hitting champion takes on unified junior lightweight champion Mikaela Mayer (17-0, 5KOs).
The pre-fight trash talk on social media has been entertaining. Both women are promising to walk out of the ring victorious. In particular, Baumgardner has promised to punished the unified champion. This matchup will consist of two different styles; Mayer, a boxer with the height advantage versus Baumgardner, the shorter fighter with explosive knockout power! For the winner, they’ll walk away with three of the four belts need to become undisputed.
