Jose Benavidez Jr is Not Concerned With Danny Garcia’s Left Hook!
Jose Benavidez Jr (27-1-1, 18KOs) is as confident as ever ahead of his 154-pound clash with two-division world champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (36-3, 21KOs). After successfully making weight ahead of their July 30 fight, the former world title challenger proclaimed that the left hook of Garcia would not affect him.

Speaking to fighthype.com, Benavidez Jr. had the following to say about his plans for the fight as well as his lack of concern for the explosive left hook Swift possesses.
“Like I said before, he’s a tough fighter, and I’m not going to go out there trying to fucking go reckless the first couple of rounds, because that’s how people get caught. I’m going to stick to my game plan. If the knockout comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, it’s going to be a hell of a fight.”
“That’s the plan – to walk him down. I’m going to walk through his punches and get him when he leaves himself open. Jabs, body shots, that hook that he has is not going to faze me. I’m not worried about it at all.”
Going off of Benavidez’s comments, he plans to play it smart as he gradually breaks down Garcia. As the bigger man with solid skills and power himself, his confidence shouldn’t come as a surprise. However, once he feels that left hook, his response to it will tell us everything we need to know. Regardless, fight fans should brace themselves because a firefight between these two combatants could erupt at any time.
