Devin Haney Refers Shakur Stevenson to his Resume After Being Called a Duck
Many in the boxing community would love to see a battle between undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) and two-division world champion Shakur Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs). However, as the fighters continue to bicker over money, the possibility of the fight happening doesn’t look promising.
3Kings Boxing previously reported that Stevenson balked at an offer in which he would receive twenty-five percent of the split purse. Since then, two young warriors have been going back and forth on social media.

Stevenson feels he deserves more. Word on the street is he wants at least forty percent of the split. All of this has caused quite the reaction.
Several fans feel that Haney’s initial offer is patronizing and a sign that the undisputed champion is not serious about fighting Stevenson. However, twenty-five percent is what a challenger typically would receive in a world title fight.
Haney is coming off a close unanimous decision victory over three-division champion Vasyl Lomachenko on May 20. Stevenson’s last outing was a sixth-round stoppage over Shichiro Yoshino in April 2023 in a WBC world title eliminator.
Due to his win over Yoshino, Stevenson is next in line for a shot at the undisputed champion. But The Dream has talked about his difficulty making the 135-pound lightweight limit. He openly contemplates moving up to 140 and possibly fighting reigning WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis.
Maybe Haney is playing financial games and will return with a more favorable offer for Stevenson. If the fight occurs, it will likely be sooner than later because of Haney and his issues with weight. Stay tuned to 3kingsboxing.com for any additional updates.
